Welcome to the AKDYS Mold Toxicity “Battle” Blog!

Before we dive into diet changes, exercise routines or change of sleeping patterns we would like to give you first some background  on what happened to us, the symptoms we experienced and how they developed. This blog is intended as a story of our experience, our journey and what worked for us individually to get ourselves back to a healthy state.

For us, it all started with moving into a new place! Yes, we were super excited to start new jobs, travel the world, downsize our home and move into a tiny one-bedroom beach condo rental. Waking up to the sound of the waves, a morning dog walk on the beach, a refreshing swim to wake up and a nice hot cup of coffee on the perfect ocean view balcony sounded like a dream-come-true.

So it would seem!

We were about a month into our lease when I woke up with a stuffy nose and cold symptoms. It was September with 90 degrees outside and a head cold at that time of year felt kind of strange. I still decided not to miss my morning swim and felt definitely much better afterwards. All good, I thought, no problem, can’t be that big of a deal. The stuffiness in the morning continued but went away throughout the day. A couple of weeks later Dani developed similar but more severe morning symptoms – increasing mucus build up, post nasal drip, headache, fogginess and just feeling very low energy and tired – that improved throughout the day, while in the office, in the gym or out for dinner.
