Despite the detox going well and our overall health improving, Dani’s night sweats were getting worse and she was soaking clothes and sheets so badly that she started sleeping between towels. Also, during our annual physicals, her BUN levels and BUN/creatine ratio were low, along with her white blood cells and neutrophils levels were low. A recheck of the levels confirmed the results, along with confirming Dani’s Epstein Barr antibody levels were also still elevated (as they had been for a few years). In reviewing her blood count levels from the past 3 years, she had been trending downward on the white blood cells for a while now. So off for more tests she went!
After a 3 month of waiting for appointments, Dani saw a hematologist and infectious disease specialist. Her white blood cell and neutrophil levels had risen into the normal category, TB tests, cancer screening, autoimmune and Epstein Barr virus testing were all negative, and Vitamin B-12, mineral and all hormone levels were all good.
So as nothing medically appeared to be wrong, Steph and Dani concluded (with the help of “the internets”), the removal of toxins from the body (especially the mycophenolic acid, an immunosuppressant for kidney transplant patients) caused some side effects and irritated some pre-existing conditions.
